Should we seek an assessment?

Many parents feel that they know something is different about their child.

You may have noticed behaviours that could be related to a diagnosis of autism and/or ADHD. Perhaps your child is described as very shy, quirky, or full of energy.

“We didn’t know whether an assessment was the right thing to do...”

Deciding whether to seek an assessment for autism and/or ADHD can feel overwhelming.

You might worry about what others will think, whether a diagnosis could lead to your child being “labelled,” or whether it could negatively affect their future. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space for you to talk through your worries. Together, we can explore your concerns, look at what the research actually says, and help you decide what feels right for your child and your family.

If you’re unsure whether this is the right step, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
