What's an EHCP
and do you need one?

Sometimes a child needs more support than a mainstream school can provide through
ordinarily available provision. In these situations, an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) can be
essential in ensuring the right support is put in place.

The EHCP process can feel complex and overwhelming to navigate alone. Statutory
guidance says it should be completed within 20 weeks, resulting in a final plan that
clearly sets out your child’s needs, the support required, and the school responsible for
providing it.

An EHCP is a legal document, and the support written into the plan must be provided
by law. This makes it a very important tool in securing the help your child needs.

I can support and guide you through every stage of the EHCP process, including:

Requesting an EHC Needs Assessment

Understanding your rights as a parent

Navigating Local Authority decisions and appeals

Working through the draft plan stages

Understanding and preparing for Annual Reviews to maintain the EHCP

Throughout the process, I can be there to advise you and help ensure your child has the best possible chance of receiving the support they need in education.
